On Saturday, March 15, 2025, Cummins & White, LLP attorneys Fred Whitaker (Managing Partner, C&W; former chair, Orange County Republican Party) and Garrett Fahy (Chair, Republican National Lawyers Association (CA)) led a continuing legal education (CLE) panel discussion at the California Republican Party Convention in Sacramento on the legal and election law developments in the first months of the second Trump administration. Joined by experienced political and election law attorneys Shawn Steel (Republican National Committeeman (CA), Steel & Eisner) and Michael Columbo (Dhillon Law Group), Fred and Garrett spoke to a full room about the Trump administration’s executive orders and resulting litigation, its withdrawal from litigation initiated by the Biden Administration, California’s expected legal response to the Trump administration, and the legislative efforts of the Trump administration relative to election integrity issues.
