Fred Whitaker is Managing Partner of Cummins & White, LLP, where he leads the firm’s transactional practice and advises privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, developers, and family-owned companies on complex business, real estate, financing, succession, and growth matters.
Fred began his legal career at Cummins & White in 1990, focusing on environmental insurance coverage and real estate matters. In 1993, he joined SC Fuels as Vice President and General Counsel and later served as Chief Operating Officer of its Northwest Division, gaining firsthand experience managing the legal, operational, and strategic challenges facing growing businesses.
Returning to Cummins & White in 2000, Fred has built a practice focused on serving as outside general counsel to privately held companies. He advises clients on entity formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate transactions, financing, employment-related risk management, estate and succession planning, and other strategic business matters.
