Cummins and White, LLP and the Law Office of Philip L. Hummel are proud to announce they are joining forces to better serve our clients. For 27 years, the law offices of Philip L. Hummel have been serving privately held businesses, families and individuals in the City and County of Orange for business litigation, business transactions and estate planning. Formed in 1951, and in Orange County since 1976, Cummins and White, LLP serves the same type of clientele from a broader platform. In addition to an expertise in insurance coverage and defense, the firm’s transactional practices include business, acquisitions, estate planning, real estate, tax planning, healthcare, bankruptcy, government agency, and political law. The firm’s successful civil and commercial litigation areas handle disputes in the fields of construction, employment, intellectual property, tax, and third-party liability.

About Philip L. Hummel, IV

Philip L. Hummel, IV

Mr. Hummel’s practice focuses on business and civil litigation, corporate law, real estate and construction law, employment law, estate planning and estate litigation. Before joining Cummins & White, Mr. Hummel led his own Orange County litigation firm since 1994. Mr. Hummel is a member of the Orange County and Los Angeles County Bar Association, the State Bar of California, Central District of California Federal Court, and the U.S. Tax Court.

Mr. Hummel’s extensive community involvement includes having served as Chair of Orange Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Rotary Club of Orange, Trustee for Orange County Law Library, and as a Guest Lecturer.

A longtime resident of the Orange and Villa Park community, Philip Hummel, IV has been an attorney since 1986. Phil attended Michigan State University (School of Business), graduated from California State University Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance, and received his Juris Doctor from Western State University with scholastic merit. Mr. Hummel and his wife, Carrie have three sons who were all raised in Orange County.

Carl J. Pentis

Mr. Pentis has served Southern California with decades of experience and now joins Cummins & White LLP. Mr. Pentis’ practice focuses on corporate law, business litigation, alternative dispute resolution, employment law services, and real property disputes. With an extensive academic background lecturing on business law, Mr. Pentis’ analytical approach to his clients’ issues often allows him to foresee potential solutions and resolutions, which can save his clients time, money and energy.
