Ms. Jiaying Li joined Cummins & White, LLP in 2023. Her practice focuses on insurance coverage litigation, representing clients in a wide range of insurance disputes, including coverage analysis, policy interpretation, and litigation strategies.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Li worked as a civil litigation attorney, representing healthcare facilities in insurance litigation, medical malpractice, professional liability, premises liability, and general tort litigation.

Ms. Li received her Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in 2022, where she served as a member of the Pepperdine Moot Court Team (2020–2022), a junior editor of Pepperdine Law Review (2020–2021), and vice president of the Dispute Resolution Society (2021–2022). She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University in 2023. Prior to her legal education, she attended the University of Miami from 2015 to 2018, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication.

While in law school, Ms. Li externed for the Honorable Sandra R. Klein of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. She also served as a law clerk for the Pepperdine Legal Aid Clinic and the Pepperdine Restoration and Justice Clinic, where she provided legal services for clients from underprivileged backgrounds and victims of gender-based crimes to facilitate their social reintegration and employment recovery. She also received CALI-Excellence for the Future Awards for her study in an upper division class—Role of the Civil Litigator.

Ms. Li has native proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Chinese (Mandarin).
