“Abraham Lincoln once said: ‘Discourage litigation. Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can. Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser—in fees, expenses, and waste of time. As a peacemaker the lawyer has a superior opportunity of being a good man. There will still be business enough.’ That is my approach: to be a peacemaker when possible, to litigate vigorously when necessary, and to always have my client’s best interests in mind, bearing in mind the greater good that can be accomplished in every scenario.”
Garrett Fahy is an experienced attorney selected to Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list from 2015-2023. His practice involves advising and representing clients on complex business, employment, and commercial matters and acting as outside general counsel for some awesome software companies.
Garrett’s litigation practice concentrates primarily on employment and business disputes, intellectual property issues, data breaches, corporate governance, and unfair competition disputes in state and federal courts and arbitration panels across the nation. He has represented international clients in class actions and multi-district litigation.
Outside litigation, he counsels clients in various industries on employment issues, IP assets/rights, privacy rights, entity formation, international legal obligations, commercial contracts, due diligence and financial transactions, new product/service offerings, and legal compliance.
In the election law context, Garrett is the California Chair of the Republican National Lawyers Association, and regularly represents political candidates, campaigns, elected officials, and political organizations in state and federal elections, and speaks on current election law developments and disputes. Also, he has represented initiative and referenda proponents before California courts in disputes over ballot measures. Recently, Garrett was appointed by the former Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV), Neal Kelley, to the OC ROV’s Community Election Working Group, which advises the ROV on election administration issues.
Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time with his family (including two very busy toddlers), is involved in a local church and various non-profits, and proudly roots for the LA Kings, LA Dodgers and San Francisco 49ers.
