Erick Becker is a Senior Partner at Cummins & White, LLP and leads the firm’s Labor & Employment practice group. With more than 35 years of experience, Erick advises employers on labor relations, employment law compliance, workforce management, and employment litigation across a broad range of industries.
Known for his practical and business-minded approach, Erick helps employers navigate California’s complex and ever-changing employment laws while minimizing legal risk and operational disruption. He counsels clients on employee relations, workplace policies, wage-and-hour compliance, investigations, disciplinary actions, reductions in force, and other day-to-day employment matters. He also advises employers on strategies to maintain union-free work environments and assists unionized employers with negotiations, contract administration, strike management, and labor communications.
Erick regularly represents employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), California Labor Commissioner, and other regulatory agencies. His clients span a wide range of industries, including healthcare, construction, manufacturing, transportation, non-profit organizations, and waste management.
Prior to joining Cummins & White, Erick served as Chief Executive Officer of The American Consulting Group, Inc., where he advised Fortune 500 companies and middle-market businesses on labor relations and human resources strategy. This unique combination of legal and executive leadership experience enables him to provide clients with practical solutions that strengthen workplace culture, support business objectives, and reduce employment-related risk.
Erick is a frequent speaker on labor and employment issues for industry groups, professional organizations, and employer audiences. He has also taught Human Resources and the Law through the Human Resources Management Program at the University of California, Irvine.
