Larry
M. Arnold, P.C., joined Cummins & White, LLP in 1974 and
became a partner in 1978. Mr. Arnold practices in the areas
of insurance and real estate law, with emphasis on civil litigation,
insurance coverage, and business transactions. From 1985 to
1987 and from 1999 to 2001, Mr. Arnold served as Cummins &
White's managing partner.
Mr. Arnold represents both insurance companies and their insureds
in both first and third party coverage disputes, including concurrent
cause, forced placed, environmental, fraud, errors and omissions,
and duty to defend issues. He handles all aspects of litigation
arising out of insurance and bad faith issues and in such areas
as professional liability, property damage and subrogation. Mr.
Arnold has an extensive background in providing legal advice on
claims catastrophes such as earthquakes and hurricanes. He has served
as a consultant to insurance carriers in drafting their earthquake
policies.
Mr. Arnold counsels clients in all aspects of real estate
and business transactions, including real property development,
sales, syndication, financing, leasing and construction transactions.
He litigates real estate related matters, including construction
defect, judicial foreclosure, and partnership disputes.
Mr. Arnold is a member of the State Bar of California. He is admitted
to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Central, Southern
and Northern Districts of California, District of Arizona, District
of Nebraska, Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of
Appeals, Ninth Circuit. He serves as a judge pro tem and an arbitrator
for the Orange County Superior Court. He is a member of the Orange
County Bar Association and The Federation of Defense & Corporate
Counsel (FDCC). Mr. Arnold enjoys Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory's
highest "AV" rating for lawyers and is an affiliate member
of PLRB, Property Loss Research Bureau.
Mr. Arnold was appointed by California Governor George Deukmejian
to the Board of Directors of the 32nd District Agricultural
Association (Orange County Fair) in 1983, and served as its
president in 1987 and in 1992. He chairs the Orange County
4-H Council's Support Committee, and was the 1994 recipient
of its Meritorious Service Award. In 2003, Mr. Arnold was
appointed as Director of the California 4-H Foundation. He
was also a founding director of the Newport National Little
League.
Mr. Arnold received his B.A. in Political Science from the
University of Southern California (1971), where he was president
of Phi Kappa Psi. He earned a J.D. from United States International
University, California Western School of Law (1974), where
he was a member of Phi Delta Phi.
Mr. Arnold was born in Los Angeles, California. He and his
wife reside in Newport Beach, California.
